The Runway Visitor Park

Enjoy a great day out for all ages.  Take a front row seat to watch the planes take-off, enjoy a restaurant with a view like no other, take home a souvenir and round the day off with a guided tour of BA's flagship Concorde.

Explore the aircraft

  • Discover Concorde The Concorde G-BOAC was the flagship supersonic airliner of the BA fleet. Choose from our Classic, Engineering, VIP and Private Tour Packages.  Please Note: Access to the Concorde Hangar is permitted as part of a tour and is subject to availability, to guarantee your place on a tour you are advised to book your place in advance.
  • Tour Nimrod The RAF decommissioned this patrol and attack aircraft in 2010. Minimum height restriction for Nimrod tours is 1.2m.
  • Hop Onboard the DC-10, Trident or Avro RJX – at least one of these aircraft will be open free of charge at weekends.

Watching the Planes and Park Facilities

  • Raised Viewing Mounds give a clear 180-degree view over the airfield. There are approximately 600 aircraft movements each day so there's always something to see.
  • Children’s Play Area  Facility opened in 2011
  • Aviation Shop Make your trip extra memorable with a range of aviation-related products suitable for children through to the serious enthusiast.
  • Cycling the Airport Orbital Route The Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport is situated just off the family-friendly Airport Orbital Cycleway. Cyclists are admitted to the Park free of charge.

Concorde Restaurant and Coffee House

The Coffee House is open daily from 8.00am
At the Runway Visitor Park, we provide onsite catering to suit everyone’s needs, from visitors looking for a quick bite to eat from our "Grab and Go" offer to those who want to enjoy a meal.
The Concorde Coffee House is perfect for those dropping in for refreshments while they enjoy the sensational sight of the iconic supersonic jet or looking to enjoy an excellent casual dining experience.
There are picnic tables at the Runway Visitor Park if you want to enjoy your food outside.
Please do not feed the birds, as they are a hazard to aircraft. Please note that views of Concorde from The Concorde Coffee House may be obscured when there is a private event being held.

  • Parking Costs  The Park is FREE for visitors who get here by foot, bicycle or on public transport.
  • Car and motorbike parking charges are as follows: £5 up to 2 hours, £10 from 2 hours up to 4 hours, and £12 for all stays over 4 hours.
    Coach parking is charged at a flat rate of £12.
    Parking is free for all conference delegates.
    Parking charges are included in the price of all aircraft tours.
  • Accessibility We try and make it easy for everyone to access and enjoy the Runway Visitor Park. Find out more information here.
  • Guide and Assistance Dogs are welcome at the Park (Other dogs are not permitted due to the proximity of the runways)
